“Thug Nasty” Bryce Mitchell (great fight name!) takes on Charles “Boston Strong” Rosa in the second dearly prelim.
Round 1
Mitchell comes out of the gate aggressive and backs up Rosa to the fence. Mitchell scores a takedown and immediately ties up Rosas legs a la Khabib style. BM displays impressive grappling by quickly transitioning to Rosa’s back and going for an arm triangle. Rosa works his way out of the attempt. But Thug Nasty quickly transitions to take Rosa’s back. Mitchell is dominating on the ground. Mitchell attempts a twister submission. Thug Nasty then smoothly transitions to top position. Thug Nasty then lands a couple big shots on ground before attempting another arm triangle that was defended by Rosa.

Round 2
Rosa opens with three kicks. Thug Nasty catches a low kick and turns it into an early round takedown. Mitchell once again is in 3/4 mount. Daniel “DC” Cormier on the announcing team commends Thug Nasty for great technical grappling. Mitchell then gains full mount and lands a strong left elbow. After Rosa shows good defense and forces a scramble, Mitchell goes back to top mount looking for an arm triangle. Thug Nasty then smoothly transitions into another twister attempt where he lands a couple nice elbows to the body followed by an elbow to the head.

Round 3
The round opened with a missed spin kick by Rosa that Mitchell used to take Rosa’s back and get the takedown. Thug Nasty then takes the back and works yet another twister attempt. Mitchell then transitions to side control. Mitchell then transitions to top position before ending up taking Rosa’s back.
Outstanding jiu-jitsu shown by Mitchell throughout. Floating hips and easily following Rosa as Rosa defended by frequently turning while in bottom position. Toward the end of the round, Thug Nasty lands a couple nice shots from crucifix position.
