The second bout of the main card is a men’s welterweight bout between Neil “The Haitian Sensation” Magny versus Anthony Rocco Martin.
Magny is a veteran who has fought an incredible 21 times in the UFC (21 times!) with a 15-6 record with the world mma leader. Rocco Martin meanwhile sports a 9-5 record over 6+ years in the UFC.
Round 1
Rocco Martin applying pressure early. The fight briefly goes to the clinch along the cage before the fighters break. Rocco Martin then gets Magny’s back with the fight still on the feet. Magny is able to turn after some time as the fight stays in the clinch for a bit. Good low kicks by Magny. Rocco Martin once again controlling Magny in the clinch along the fence. After the break Magny lands a couple nice jabs.

Magny with a nice low kick. Martin with a good left jab. Great hard right hand counter by Martin as Magny closed distance. Martin with a beautiful takedown as he had lifted the incredibly tall Magny high in the air before putting him down. Magny quickly works his way back to the feet though as the fight goes to the clinch. Clinch breaks with about half the round to go. Magny with a takedown attempt but slick counter-grappling by Rocco Martin by threatening the kimura as Magny abandons the attempt. Magny lands a nice right hand. Rocco Martin once more controlling the clinch along the fence. After the break the fighters exchange low kicks but Rocco Martin’s appears to land harder.

Nice combo to start the round by Rocco Martin. Big low kick by Rocco Martin. Magny bringing the pressure. Nice right hand by Magny. Magny attempts a takedown. Good elbow on the break by Magny. Nice right hand by Magny. In th clinch Magny lands a hard knee. Good hard low kick by Rocco Martin. Great 3 push combo by Magny as he starts to pour it on and dominate the third round. Rocco Martin is clearly tired. Big right hand counter by Rocco Martin. Magny lands a hard right hand as the fight comes to a close.
