UFC 253 – Vieira vs. Eubanks – Fight Report

Ketlen Vieira entered this women’s bantamweight bout with a 10-1 record, suffering a knockout loss to Irene Aldana in here most recent bout at UFC 245 last December. However, prior to that fight Vieira was a perfect 10-0 with a four-fight UFC win streak. Eubanks was on a two-fight in streak with a 6-4 overall record.

Round 1

Eubanks scored early with a couple of hard leg kicks and a flush counter right hand. Eubanks showed good takedown defense early in the round stuffing one attempt and landing a good uppercut on the break from the clinch. Eubanks landed a nice right hand to the body late in the round. Hard 1-2 combination landed for Vieira late in the round. Vieira with nice work late in the round as she landed a hard four-punch combination. With 115 seconds left in the round Vieira forces the clinch and then scores a beautiful trip takedown from the clinch.

Round 2

Vieira landed a takedown from the clinch early in the round. Vieira with a couple minutes of control time before the referee resets the fight back on the feet. Vieira landed some effective striking from distance toward the end of the round.

Round 3

Hard right hand to the body by Eubanks as she charged forward early in the round. Big left hook upstairs landed by Eubanks early in the round. Both ladies showed nice striking, aggressively throwing combinations and landing strikes in the round. Eubanks landed a few heavy strikes on the ground to close the round.
