Seattle Fights is back to bring you updates of all of the UFC 254 main card fights.
The first fight of the night features a rematch of both fighters most recent fight, won somewhat controversially by Magomed Ankalaev in 38 seconds. Despite appearing to be hurt by Ankalaev, the fiery and super-intense Ion “the Hulk” Cutelaba claims he was playing possum, when the referee called the fight a TKO victory for Ankalaev.
Ankalaev enters the bout with a sterling 13-1 record, having lost only his UFC debut by submission to Paul Craig. Ankalaev is on a four fight win streak. Cutelaba, on the other hand, brings a 4-4 UFC record into the bout.
Round 1
Hard outside leg kick lands for Ankalaev. Big front kick followed by a left hook. Big overhand right hand counter by Cutelaba off an Ankalaev leg kick. Cutelaba lands a couple straight right hands. Big body kick lands for Ankalaev. Straight left hand by Ankalaev drops Cutelaba. It appeared Cutelaba was about to execute a spinning attack when he got caught. Cutelaba charges in and tries to land a backhand strike, but Ankalaev is too good as he steps back and hammers Cutelaba with a left hand that drops The Hulk to the canvas. Ankalaev follows up with ground-and-pound that puts Cutelaba’s lights out with the clean KO.
