eavyweight Bout
Francis “The Predator” Ngannou squares off with another massive heavyweight striker in Jairzinho “Bigi Boy” Rozenstruik in this highly anticipated heavyweight bout.
Round 1
Bigi Boy starts the fight with low kicks. But The Predator was having none of that as he makes a quick decision to blitz Bigi Boy and damn near knocks of Bigi Boy’s head with a massive left hook that puts the Surinamese fighter’s lights out. Another terrifying display of power from The Predator. Ngannou followed up with several hard shots as Rozenstruik was crumpled up against the cage but those shots were academic as the left hook had already stolen Bigi Boy’s consciousness.
This writer is a big fan of Ngannou. Having risen from abject poverty to being on the cusp of “the Baddest Man on the Planet” is a nice story. I can only hope he gets a second crack at Stipe Miocic soon and eliminates the boring Miocic from the title spot.
One final thought, Bigi Boy actually called out Ngannou for this fight. Kudos to Bigi Boy for having the cojones to do that, but it was clearly a mistake to poke this particular bear. Daniel “DC” Cormier pointed out a technical flaw in Ngannou’s stand
up as he had his head “bolt upright” during his blitz forward on Rozenstruik. No matter. When you can smash and land like The Predator that little flaw hardly mattered one bit.
Official decision – KO victory for Ngannou at 0:20 of the very first round
