Tournament Highlights
The road to the Winners Final was dominated by Chenzho, one of the favorites coming into the tournament. Chenzho dominated by not dropping a single game in his first five matches going a perfect 10-0 in game score. In the Winners Semi-Final, Chenzho had a particularly impressive win as he took out Iron Shepa Online #2 champion Senpai Relax.
Chenzho is a popular streamer on Twitch with almost 4 thousand followers. Catch him on his Twitch page to check out some of his outstanding play with his Tekken main King. Find him at https://www.twitch.tv/chenzho?sr=a.
Champion SnipeGodRees had a similarly dominant run through the Winners Bracket as he posted a perfect 8-0 game score in his four matches prior to the Winners Final. All matches prior to the Winners Final were contested first to 2. SnipeGodRees had a bye in the first round and thus only had 4 matches before the Winners Final, whereas Chenzho played five matches.
Winners Final
In the opening game, SnipeGodRees opened with Lei as Chenzho countered with his main King. Chenzho took the opening game dropping only one round to SnipeGodRees. Chenzho showed his dominant form in the opening game as he continued his aggressive play and by controlling the pace of the action. In the second game, SnipeGodRees made a nice adjustment and switched to Hwoarang. Getting off on his offense and jumping out to big leads in the first two rounds, SnipeGodRees took a 2-0 round lead before Chenzho took the third round. After taking the fourth round and winning Game 2, the score was tied 1-1. Chenzho took the next two games to win the Winners Final and send SnipeGodRees to the Losers Final.
Grand Final
SnipGodRees made his way to the Grand Final after winning a close match in the Losers Bracket Final against Senpai Relax. SnipeGodRees had to comeback from a 2-1 game deficit in the Losers Bracket Final in order to advance.
In Game 1 of the Grand Final, the players were tied 2 rounds apiece in Game 1 with SnipeGodRees ultimately taking Game 1.
SnipeGod then took a very quick Game 2 by sweeping all three rounds. After Chenzho took Game 3, Game 4 was tied two rounds apiece when SnipeGod had Chenzho down to a tiny fraction of his health meter before making a nice comeback. Chenzho had SnipeGod down to less than one-third of his health after Chenzho’s King landed a nice throw on SnipeGod’s Hwoarang. But SnipeGod set up the Grand Final Reset when he finished the match with a front kick-axe kick combo in the very next engagement.
Grand Final Reset
While the Winners Final and Grand Final battles between these two players were closely contested, back-and-forth matches, SnipeGodRees took the Grand Final Reset 3-0, thereby winning the tournament. The only bit of intrigue came in the fifth round of Game 3 as Chenzho had built a big lead with SnipeGod down to the smallest fraction of life. But SnipeGod was able to put on a sustained offensive assault to take the title and defend the X-box platform after SnipeGod head previously won Iron Sherpa Online #3. Congratulations to both finalists and SnipeGodRees for winning his second Iron Sherpa tournament!
