Coach Bumble Bee was a pillar in the local boxing community as the long time coach at the eponymous Bumble Bee Boxing Club that was located at the Union Gospel Mission in Rainer Valley. Nomad Boxing Club continues his legacy.

I was talking to a prominent boxing manager once in Las Vegas. He asked me where I was from. I said Seattle. He told me that he used to fly down a guy named Bumble Bee to fight his boxers, and Bumble Bee kept knocking his guys out!
