The third bout on the card is a 150 pound catchweight fight between Billy Quarantillo v Spike “The Alpha Ginger” Carlyle

Round 1

Th Alpha Ginger opens wildly by throwing a jumping kick. The fight goes to the ground and The Alpha Ginger throws and lands some hard elbows. The Alpha ginger takes Quarantillo’s back and lands some hard ground and pound. The Alpha Ginger is no doubt a wild man as he dominates the first two minutes of the fight. Quarantillo now in top position. Despite being in a bodywork Spike turns into Quarantillo’s guard. In top position Carlyle keeps his posture low and tight to Quarantillo. Some nice ground and pound for the Alpha Ginger at the end of the round and lands some hard shots

A head scratcher to end the round though. As Carlyle stands up and curiously decides to walk toward his corner before the round ends. Before the horn had sounded! What in the world was he thinking. In any event, Quarantillo smartly takes advantage as he rushes Carlyle from behind and lands a solid left hook from behind the Alpha Ginger’s back.

Round 2

Another wild start to the round as Carlyle lands a hard shot. The fight goes to the ground with Quarantillo on top. But Carlyle explodes and turns into his foe’s guard. Quarantillo scored with some nice elbows from bottom position. Carlyle takes the back but slides off. The fight goes back to the feet. Quarantillo with a nice takedown. The fight goes back to the feet. Carlyle looks exhausted with one minute left in the round. But he lands a takedown. Quarantillo puts spike in a triangle but the Alpha Ginger pulls out of it.

Round 3

Quarantillo misses a superman punch to start the round and Spike takes his back. The fight goes to the ground and the fighters change position several times. With Quarantillo in top position he lands some hard strikes. Carlyle survives and once more reverses position. This is such a wild and entertaining fight. There seems to be endless transitions and reversals of position on the ground. Carlyle is clearly exhausted but one tough dude as he continues to fight hard. Quarantillo now has Mike’s back and is working both punches and choke attempts. Quarantillo putting a beating on Carlyle in the last minute of the round. As the fight goes back to the feet Quarantillo, just before the round ends, absolutely hammers The Alpha Ginger with hard punches.
