On Friday, June 19, Happenstance FGC broadcast another round of its inaugural Street Fighter league. What is Happenstance FGC? It is a fighting game community that is currently hosting its first online Street Fighter V tournament. Happenstance FGC provides esports programming and competitions online and in-person.

The following is a quick roundup of the action and results of the June 19 broadcast. That broadcast (and all future broadcasts and past recordings) can be seen on the Happenstances FGC Facebook page here.

You can watch the next event on , June 22 at 8 pm central time. The league is scheduled for three broadcasts a week: Monday, Thursday and Friday. The start time is 8 pm central time for all broadcasts.

The league is currently in its round-robin phase. All players play one another during the round-robin portion of the tournament. After the round-robin phase is complete, the top 8 players will compete in a double-elimination tournament to determine the league champion.

The match winners are determined by the first player to win two games in a best of three games format. As with other Street Figther V tournaments, only the losing payer of a game can change characters for the next game, if the match has not yet been decided. The winning player of a game must keep the same character in the next game of a match.

The June 19 broadcast featured 9 total matches.

Here’s a recap of the first match of the night. In the first match Aza_belmont (playing Ibuki) took on Rob_Mty (playing Guile). The first round of the match started with Aza_belmont starting aggressively on the attack. But not to be outdone, Rob_Mty countered with an offensive plan that saw him come from behind to take the round in a close contest. Aza_Belmont got out to a big lead in the second round as he continued to employ an aggressive strategy that earned him the second round. Rob_Mty got off to a great start in the final round of the first game, before Aza_Belmont launched a comeback but Rob_Mty was able to clinch the first game with a suplex slam knockout. The players split the remaining two games with Aza_Belmont winning the match 2 games to 1.
