Seattle based jiu-jitsu competitor Austin “Duck Jitsu” Daffron is back in action this weekend in Des Moines, Iowa when he competes at Sub Spectrum’s professional jiu-jitsu tournament BJJ Woodstock Showcase. Daffron will battle it out in the championship match in the Flyweight division (125 lbs) against Nate Williams.

Austin Daffron a.k.a “Duck Jitsu”
Daffron, a brown belt competitor, continues his busy professional jiu-jitsu and combat sports career at BJJ Woodstock. In July, Daffron competed in the prestigious invitation-only Jiu-Jitsu OT tournament. Jiu-Jitsu OT is a new promotion created by jiu-jitsu legend Eddie Bravo. Daffron competed in the inaugural event that was aired live and exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
Daffron’s championship match in the Flyweight division at the BJJ Woodstock Showcase is a rematch of his clash at Sub Spectrum 7 against Nate Williams. Below is a video recap of that Fight of the Night performance between the combatants.
Austin Daffron Tournament Accomplishments
Seattle based jiu-jitsu ace Austin Daffron trains in the Seattle suburb of Edmonds at Kindred Jiu-Jitsu. Kindred Jiu-Jitsu is an affiliate of Workshop Jiu-Jitsu.
Daffron’s impressive jiu-jitsu resume includes:
• Ultimate Mat Warriors – 2019 Champion – Open Division 125 lbs
• Combat Jiu-Jitsu– 2019 Semi-Finalist – 135 lbs
• Finishers – 2018 Champion – Open Division 125 lbs
In the 2019 Combat Jiu-Jitsu tournament, Daffron competed against three black belts as he advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament.

BJJ Woodstock Event Details
BJJ Woodstock takes place in Des Moines, Iowa and is a 3-day event that promises to be an incredible experience for jiu-jitsu and grappling enthusiasts. The event kicks off on Friday, August 21 with free weigh-ins for Saturday’s professional matches, open workouts featuring the top athletes in the event, and a concert featuring some of Des Moines’ best musical acts.
Saturday morning features the BJJ Woodstock open, a gi and no-gi round robin jiu-jitsu tournament for kids, teens, adults, and masters. The event beings at 8 am with weigh ins and the tournament starts at 9 am.
Saturday night is the professional jiu-jitsu showcase. The professional event is aimed at giving some of the “lesser known” high level grapplers of the world a platform to compete and shine in front of a large audience. The event, scheduled for 6 – 10 pm, takes place at the 560 seat auditorium at Franklin Junior High.
Sunday is the BJJ Woodstock Festival from 10 am – 5 pm. The festival is free admission. Attendees can roam the field of seminars, classes and demonstrations in jiu-jitsu, wrestling, judo, yoga, meditation, sports psychology and hypnotism therapy. Local musicians will also provide entertainment throughout the day.
