Tyson vs Jones Jr. PPV – Main Card – Badou Jack vs Blake McKernan
The second fight on the main card is an 8 round Light Heavyweight fight between Badou Jack versus a guy most have never heard of in Blake McKernan. If Jack doesn’t dominate this fight it will be a huge upset.
Round 1
Nice right body jab for Jack early. Another nice body jab for Jack. Jack pressuring early. Snapping jab for Jack to McKernan’s face. More hard body shots for Jack. Jack easily controlling the fight as McKernan is clearly outclassed. Great three punch combination to the body by Jack starts with a couple straight shots followed by a big, cracking hook.
Round 2
Jack with a couple more nice body jabs to start the round. Jack follows with a sharp shot to McKernan’s head. Right uppercut to the body lands for Jack. Sharp jab by Badou snaps McKernan’s head back. McKernan has no answers as he mostly absorbs shots while moving slowly along the ropes through most of the round, and fight, so far.
Round 3
McKernan lands a nice hook to the body but is immediately countered by Jack. McKernan throws a few labored punches. The difference in skill between these fighters is vast.
Round 4
A nice jab by Jack splits McKernan’s guard. McKernan actually scores a combination with a jab and left hook. McKernan throwing a little bit this round. Jack continues with the pressure as he continually backs up his foe. Jack, though fighting at a measured pace, as Sugar Ray Leonard in the commentator’s booth calls for more “punches in bunches” from Jack.
Round 5
Slick counter jab to start the round by Jack. Big left jab to the body by Jack appears to hurt McKernan. Jack turns up the pressure late in the round. McKernan lands a nice straight right hand. Jack rocks McKernan late with a couple of uppercuts. The best action of the fight so far occurred late in the round.
Round 6
Jack digs a left hook to the body early. Jack once again focusing on the body. Heavy right hand lands for Jack. Jack turning up the power and pressure.
Round 7
McKernan lands a rare combination with a couple of hooks. Jack continues with his measured pressure as he backs up McKernan. Big right hand for Jack after he repeatedly hammered away at McKernan’s body. McKernan, while not very skilled, should at least be given some respect for the amount of punishment he has taken without looking for a way out.
Round 8
Big right hand upstairs for Jack. Jack aggressive early. Jack hammering away. Jack absolutely punishing McKernan.
